Chapter 1:
Introduction
Teaching Technology and livelihood Education Program (TLE) should be delivered in an interactive classroom climate. Students nowadays, are easily bored and learn nothing if the classroom environment is not motivating enough. As the number of students' population increases, the more teachers are required to teach and facilitate more interactive learning in classes. TLE deals with the technical and vocational courses that help students to be more skilled. The purpose of it is to give the students the opportunities to work even if they only finished high school. The focus of teaching TLE is to see the application of practical projects as results. Teachers are also expected to be more inventive and resourceful in delivering the lessons to the students, especially those who have difficulties in attentiveness. Developing cognitive skills depends on the students' environment, and how teachers motivate students. TLE also offers students opportunities to improve their social skills through teamwork projects. Every subject is hard to understand particularly major subjects. Perhaps, having standardized and ladderized curriculums may have been thought-of because of the need to ensure that the students may become more prepared for higher learning therefore acquiring more sufficient skills. CLOSING STATEMENT

Background of the Study
A research team from Waikato University defined Interactive Teaching is a strategy or style of teaching. They developed their own teaching style as part of the Learning in Science Project (LISP).The concept that every learner makes (constructs) their own meaning from any experience is called constructivism and underlies aspects the curriculum frameworks currently being used. To confuse the issue however, the idea of defining specific learning objectives for students to achieve, which is also part of recent world-wide curriculum developments is in many ways in conflict with a constructivist philosophy”.
TLE is a subject about home economics, family values, anything about basic living and your lifestyle at home. A typical TLE Curriculum presents the latest technology, inventions and practical technical skills. In the Philippines, TLE is one of the learning areas included in the Secondary Education Curriculum.
It should be noted that there is nothing that any human being knows, or can do, that he has not learned. This of course excludes natural body functions, such as breathing, as well as the reflexes, for example the involuntary closing of the eye when an object approaches it. But apart from that a human being knows nothing, or cannot do anything, that he has not learned. Therefore, all cognitive skills must be taught.

Requirements of interactive learning:
·         Interactive learning environments
·         Interactive simulations and games
·         Cognitive tools for learning
·         Virtual reality based learning systems
·         Distributed learning environments

Interactive learning also validates its requirements as its basis on using it as a method. It is very important to have a requirement as its basis of learning to use it properly.
Theoretical Framework

     INTERACTIVE LEARNING issues

According to the MSN Group....

“The extensive body of knowledge on how we learn speaks of the phases we go through as we learn.  Skills taught don’t become ingrained and truly learned until they are practiced.  And proficiency only comes with repetition and experience.  Traditional classroom training, based on lectures, presentations and maybe an occasional exercise, can only bring you to a level we call Student.  At this level, you’ve heard information but had no chance to practice it.  Often courses provide follow-up exercises or offer to sell additional tools like books and tapes to help root the knowledge and skills”.

It is also stated by Albert Bandura, that learning is based on what we observes, imitates and sees. Through a proper teaching and modeling of lessons we can inculcate all of the lessons easily. And with the help of Lev Vygotsky’s theory of social constructivism, the ZAD (zone of proximal development) is the difference between what a learner can do without help and what he or she can do with help. And through own learning of the student his\her confidence will boost to discover things without the help of a teacher. One fact, is that discovery learning is also a good way of teaching students to practice their cognitive capacity.

Conceptual Framework

Interaction between students and teacher can create a massive form of learning which takes place in verbal, visual and auditory. Understanding every concept of lessons can make a teacher and students stressed. That's why dressing up a new way of presenting the lesson can stimulate the student's attention and the retention will takes place because the learned it with action. Activities give a strong bond of learning, connection and interaction inside the classroom. The word “cognition” is defined as “the act of knowing” or “knowledge.” Cognitive skills therefore refer to those skills that make it possible for us to know. It makes us to understand, analyze and gather information in a particular event or problem. The specific picture here is that we need to develop our cognitive skills and social skills to perform the interactive learning.

Statement of the Problem

The researcher hopes to find solutions or ways of maximizing all the learning opportunities in Interactive Learning. This study was initiated to validate its effectiveness in teaching TLE amongst high school students. This study hopes to collect elaborative data about the perception of UCC TLE fourth year regarding their TLE experience in high school. Furthermore, this research hopes to answer these questions as well:

·         How can we improve student’s retention capacity?
·         What are the common problems inside the classroom that affect the learning?
·         How does interactive learning help students to learn more and easily?

These are some questions which serve as guide in this research paper. It will also act as a lesson guide for future teachers.

 Significance of Study

The use of visual-aids supported by various technologies may give good learning results. However, Interactive Learning may also be one of the best alternatives in teaching TLE.  It does not require more technology, but it focuses on the appropriate and practical hands-on learning of livelihood skills. This research may serve as a guide for future teachers who are expected to engage their students in Interactive Learning. It may also provide the students a good foundation of learning that is not focused in lectures. Interactive Learning must be used properly to avoid misunderstanding. Moreover, interactive learning is used internationally to promote better learning of students. Standard schools all over the world are practicing this method of teaching and if our government will implement interactive learning for short, we can be internationally offering standard learning.
Scope and Limitations

The researcher happens to be enrolled in the BSE-TLE program of the University of Caloocan City (UCC). Conveniently, the fourth (4th) year TLE major students were chosen to maximize the available resources and to eventually share the research information for their own professional developments. As future TLE teachers, these target respondents may share their experiences in practice-teaching. Moreover, the location of UCC makes it strategic for the research to save money, time and efforts.

Chapter 2: Research Framework
Review of related literature
Stanley J. Portier and Hans A. van Buuren stated, that interactive learning environment is preparing the students to study and explore lessons from their own. It can be in a form of computers and projectors or in a form of activities and educational trips. Learning materials in interactive learning are tools act as a connection between the students and interactive learning. Interactive learning environment allows the students to learn their model courses in a flexible way.  Some printed self-study activities often do not correspond in the learning of students, which can be divert to an interactive environment. Devices used in teaching nowadays are merely computers with interaction about reality which students easily cope up with. With the result of the studies regarding that the students are learned more through interaction and they also retained the knowledge of the lessons. Completely, students can work out the seams with their peers while learning.
According to UP Mindanao administrator, the center is trying to pull an interactive learning environment with the help of computer aided classrooms and interactive teachers. The interactive modules will be use in lesson proper of the teachers. The multi-media devices also correspond to the teaching of interactive learning. The rooms must be equipped with an audio visual devices and computers.
Review of related studies
According to the Journal of Interactive Learning Research (JILR) that publishes papers related to the theory, implementations, effectiveness and impact on education; they stated some interactive learning environment guidelines:
  • intelligent tutoring systems
  • microworlds
  • computer based learning
  • authoring systems
  • computer-mediated communications
So the framework of interactive learning is to innovate and develop our teaching practice. The word “innovation “in interactive learning is a process which special interests are emerging throughout the interaction.  In the emerging phase of technology we can create an environment that allows student to enjoy and interact with their friends while learning. The transfer of learning occurs when the interaction among students emerged which teachers will conduct their activities. The missing part of the traditional learning is that the teacher is the one who always interact to the students and not letting them to discover ideas on the topic. Moreover, the JILR developed a framework that based on the characteristic of interactive learning, influencing conditions and outcome learning process.

Chapter 1- Problem and its Background

Chapter 1:
Introduction
Teaching Technology and livelihood Education should be delivering in an Interactive classroom Climate. Students nowadays, are easily bored if there is nothing to learn. As the number of students population increases the more teachers to teach and facilitate more. Technology and livelihood Education deals with the technical and vocational course that helps student to be more trained. The purpose of it is to give the students the opportunity to work even they only finished Secondary level. And the daily basis of teaching technology and livelihood education is all about the result of the practical projects. Teachers are also expected to be more inventive and resourceful in sending the lesson to the students that are hard to get there attention. Developing cognitive skills depends on the student’s environment, behavior and how the teacher motivates students. Technology and livelihood Education offers also the part of improving students’ socialization through teamwork projects. Every subject is hard to understand particularly those major subjects perhaps, the organized thing to do is to put standardized and ladderized curriculum.
Background of the Study
Interactive teaching is the term given to a strategy/style of teaching developed through research undertaken as part of the Learning in Science Project (LISP) at Waikato University in the 80s.
The concept that every learner makes (constructs) their own meaning from any experience is called constructivism and underlies aspects the curriculum frameworks currently being used. To confuse the issue however, the idea of defining specific learning objectives for students to achieve, which is also part of recent world-wide curriculum developments is in many ways in conflict with a constructivist philosophy.
TLE is a subject about home economics, family values, anything about basic living and your lifestyle at home. It has a typical curriculum about latest technology inventions and practical technical courses with the addition of livelihood education. It is one of the learning areas of the Secondary Education Curriculum used in Philippine secondary schools.
The word “cognition” is defined as “the act of knowing” or “knowledge.” Cognitive skills therefore refer to those skills that make it possible for us to know.

But apart from that a human being knows nothing, or cannot do anything, that he has not learned. Therefore, all cognitive skills must be taught.

Theoretical Framework

The extensive body of knowledge on how we learn speaks of the phases we go through as we learn. Often courses provide follow-up exercises or offer to sell additional tools like books and tapes to help root the knowledge and skills.

That's why dressing up a new way of presenting the lesson can stimulate the student's attention and the retention will takes place because the learned it with action. Activities gives a strong bond of learning, connection and interaction inside the classroom.

Statement Of the problem
What is the main  reason of poor retention in learning and why the student's are easily get bored when the teacher starts to teach the lesson. What is the best solution to get the attention of students to learn.
How it will help students to learn more and easily?
What are the common problems inside the classroom that affects the learning?
How can you use the interactive learning in class?
How it affects the student's learning?
What will happened to the classroom climate while using interactive teaching?

 Significance of study
This is an alternative solution for technological aids used in teaching. It does not need to be more on technology but it focuses in functional areas. It gives a good advice to the future teachers and there will be no trial and error in experimenting new ways in teaching. And it will give the students a good foundation of learning because learning is not focused in lecturing but it is also in interacting.

Once that the teacher apply the interactive learning in his/her class, definitely it will be a good way to dress up the traditional teaching to a new and conventional way. Perhaps, the delivery and the way of teaching interactive must be showed properly to avoid misunderstanding.

Scope and Limitations
It is for the 4th year Technological and livelihood Education students because they are now on the field of teaching as their training ground. And the 4th students of T.L.E. majors can also share their experiences in teaching and what are the problems that made them more resourceful.

It is more convenient to  ask and interview fellow University of Caloocan City major in Technology and Livelihood program 4th year students because it helps us to save money, time and effort. And the most important thing is that 4th year students are more trained and well experienced in teaching field.
